Looking for REALTORS® Poll Workers on June 8, 2010 - Primary Election Day
Through an agreement with the Washoe County Registar of Voters, we have arranged for REALTORS® to work the polls in shifts. You can volunteer for one of two shifts. You can be partnered with a fellow REALTOR® or family member that meets the Washoe County Registrar of Voters poll worker qualifications. This is a great way to network in the community and you can wear your company name badge. Poll workers receive compensation for their time. Zipforms6 Upgrade
As you might have heard ZipForms/ZipLogix has just released ZipForms 6.0. The latest version has been enhanced for easy navigation. You will no longer have to create a transaction just to print forms, easy drag and drop forms into a transaction, and so much more. Authentication will require you to use your NRDS# to download the latest version. You can contact the Association and speak to any staff specialist to obtain your NRDS#. There are two ways you can update to the new 6.0. Your first option is to update right away from your ZipForms Online account by clicking in the upper right hand side “free upgrade to Zipform6” or waiting for the program to prompt you to renew. Please make note that if you are renewing ZipForms please use Mozilla Firefox internet instead of Internet Explorer. ZipForms is aware of the technical issue and is working on correcting it. If you do not have FireFox you can call ZipForms at (866) 693-6767 Opt1 to help update the program.
Treasury Department Announced Home Affordable Foreclosure Alternatives Program
On November 30, 2009, the Treasury Department released guidelines and forms for its new Home Affordable Foreclosure Alternatives Program (HAFA). HAFA is part of the Home Affordable Modification Program (HAMP). HAFA provides incentives in connection with a short sale or a deed-in-lieu of foreclosure (DIL) used to avoid foreclosure on a loan eligible for modification under the HAMP program. HAFA applies to loans not owned or guaranteed by Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac, which will issue their own versions of HAFA in coming weeks. For more information Click here

SFR Certification Coming March 9th
The Short Sale and Foreclosure Resource Certification (SFR) program is approved for 6 hours of general CE credit. The SFR certification program is offered by the Real Estate Buyer's Agent Council of NAR. The program includes training on how to manage short sale, forecosure, and real-estate owned transactions, and provides resources to help REALTORS® stay current on national and state-specific information as the market for these distressed properties evolves.
Foreclosure Mediation Update
RSAR will be hosting a Lunch N' Learn on March 16th, where you will be updated on the mortgage delinquency cycle; understand how it works and what options are available to homeowners in distress, with special emphasis on the government's Making Home Affordable initiative. You will also learn what pitfalls to avoid when working with mortgage servicers; how to recognize and avoid fraud; and where to go for help.
What You Need to Know About Foreclosure Scams
Elisabeth Daniels, of the Nevada Foreclosure Prevention Task Force, will present a free seminar on March 17th, from 1 – 3 p.m. at the Association office.
